I’m excited to share that my paper, “Mi-e Dor De Tine: Light Festivals, Emotional Narratives, and the Romanian Diaspora,” has just been published in the latest thematic issue of the Philosophy of the City Journal!
In this article, I explore how the Mi-e Dor De Tine light installation has transcended its artistic form to become a powerful emotional and symbolic device, articulating transnational belonging among the Romanian diaspora. Drawing from affect theory, aesthetic capitalism, and cultural sociology, the paper investigates how public art and urban space are mobilized to express longing, identity, and cultural memory beyond national borders.
This piece forms part of a special issue dedicated to the intersections of urban life, affect, and meaning-making — and I’m honoured to contribute to this timely and reflective collection.
